Everything you need to know about seedb and how to use it.

General Questions

seedb is a community-driven platform for discovering and sharing Minecraft seeds across all platforms and versions. We help players find amazing worlds with villages, mansions, diamonds, and more.

Yes! seedb is completely free to use. You can browse seeds, create an account, and submit your own seeds without any cost. We're built by the community, for the community.

No, seedb is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Mojang Studios, Microsoft, or Minecraft. We're a fan-made community project.

We support seeds for all Minecraft platforms:

  • Java Edition (PC, Mac, Linux)
  • Bedrock Edition (Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, Mobile)
  • Legacy Console Editions (no longer updated but still playable)

Note: Since version 1.18, Java and Bedrock share terrain parity, meaning biomes and terrain generate identically, though structures spawn in different locations.

Account & Registration

No, you can browse and search seeds without an account. However, you'll need to create a free account to submit seeds, like seeds, create collections, and interact with the community.

Click the "Sign up" button in the navigation bar, fill in your details (username, email, password), and you're ready to go! You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

Click "Log in" and then "Forgot password?" on the login page. Enter your email address and we'll send you a link to reset your password.

Yes, you can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Note that this action is permanent and will remove all your submitted seeds and data.

Submitting Seeds

After creating an account, click "Add Seed" in the navigation. Fill in the details:

  • Seed code (numbers or text)
  • Platform and version
  • Categories (village, mansion, etc.)
  • Description of what makes it special
  • Screenshots (optional but recommended)

Yes! Our moderation team reviews every seed before it's published to ensure quality and accuracy. This helps maintain the quality of seeds on the platform.

Most seeds are reviewed within 24-48 hours. You'll receive a notification once your seed is approved or if we need more information.

Seeds may be rejected for several reasons:

  • Seed doesn't work as described
  • Duplicate of an existing seed
  • Inappropriate content or description
  • Missing required information

You'll receive feedback explaining why and can resubmit with corrections.

Yes, you can edit your seeds from your dashboard. Changes to published seeds may require re-verification depending on what was changed.

Using Seeds

Java Edition:

  1. Click "Create New World"
  2. Click "More World Options"
  3. Enter the seed code in the "Seed" field
  4. Create the world

Bedrock Edition:

  1. Click "Create New World"
  2. Scroll down to find the "Seed" field
  3. Enter the seed code
  4. Create the world

Make sure you're using the correct version that matches the seed!

Seeds are version-specific. Common issues:

  • Using a different Minecraft version than specified (world generation changes between updates)
  • Coordinates may have changed in newer versions
  • Looking for structures at coordinates from a different platform (Java and Bedrock share terrain since 1.18, but structures spawn in different locations)

Always check the version matches your game. Remember: you can use the same seed on Java and Bedrock for identical terrain, but structure locations will differ.

Yes, with limitations. Since version 1.18, Java and Bedrock generate identical biomes and terrain for the same seed due to terrain parity. However, structures (villages, temples, strongholds, mansions, etc.) spawn in completely different locations between the two editions. So while the landscape will look identical, structure coordinates won't match.

Collections let you organize and save your favorite seeds. You can create themed collections (e.g., "Best Survival Seeds", "Speedrun Seeds") and share them with others.
